Project Management
Flexiform is pleased to continue its partnership with this Government office to transform a floor of their building into a modern collaboration zone. Post Covid-19 with many people continuing to work remotely, this Government office started to re-address its office facilities. They had two primary goals: to entice workers back into the office and to increase the amount of collaboration space.
Having already worked with Flexiform to implement Smart Working, many parts of the office still answered their requirements, providing various workspaces to suit all their staff’s diverse needs. However, the client’s wish was to replace some desking, storage and tables, for a whole wing to be dedicated to social and collaborative space.
Collaboration Hub
To create the collaboration space, Flexiform installed a range of office furniture from the client’s standard portfolio, creating consistency throughout the building, allowing flexibility in the future to re-integrate them into other workspaces, and offering tried-and-tested furniture that the client knew suited their needs. As most of their meetings were between 2-4 users, we installed a large number of meeting booths equipped with high acoustic sides for semi-private meetings and power and data (for charging) to suit up to 4 members of staff. These were also configured to make it easier to add monitor screens later down the line if required, offering enhanced flexibility.
For larger gatherings, we installed a large modular sofa with high screen partitioning, huddle tables, and mobile stools as a flexible workspace. This allows staff to reconfigure the furniture easily to accommodate large team meetings or use sections for informal gatherings. In the corner of the office, we installed our Encompass hexagon solo work booths to allow users to break away in between meetings to answer emails and continue with solo projects with minimal distraction.
Coffee Lounge
During the installation, Flexiform also completed the installation of their coffee lounge space, installing modular sofas with power (for charging or quick working) alongside complementing solid wood coffee tables. To allow staff and guests to meet informally and discuss projects, we also fitted a number of wooden stools with a fixed workbench overlooking the reception, along with mobile chairs with a lightweight coffee table. The coffee lounge is designed to allow staff and area to relax and meet guests without booking a dedicated meeting space, or taking them into the large-scale agile office.
Together, we have worked with our client to create a truly flexible workspace that can continue to adapt and respond to their worker’s needs.
