Flexible Workspace Design

The 6th Form room was split into two zones; a canteen area for students to eat, drink and chat, and a second area designed as an informal work area. The canteen space was designed to be robust and easily cleaned with traditional Flexiform Parq canteen tables and bench seats, providing a high-capacity dining space to ensure students always had access to sit down and relax in between classes.

The students working area and breakout space had a variety of furniture available for them to work independently or as a team. Comfortable sofas were provided for students to share ideas and relax in groups of up to 8, whilst Additions pedestal base tables with power modules for charging laptops allowed a single student, or groups of up to 4 to collaborate on computer-based tasks. These bistro tables and stacking chairs could be easily reconfigured to accommodate larger groups as and when they are needed, offering true flexibility. To provide a semi-private space for students, Flexiform installed acoustic office booths with a full overhead roof system to absorb sound, helping students to focus on their studies. The new facility is a fantastic versatile space for students.
