The historic Kelvin Hall has been a centre for the arts, sport and culture in Glasgow for over 80 years – and in 2016, this impressive building has once again been redeveloped to showcase Scottish culture and history. In partnership with Glasgow City Council, Glasgow Life, and the University of Glasgow, Kelvin Hall is now home to the national library, as well as numerous other physical and digital research archives.
Working alongside Glasgow-based design company Stuco, as well as other suppliers, Flexiform provided numerous highly bespoke products suitable for the unique needs and surroundings of this historic building.
Bespoke Furniture Solution
Our large wooden touchdown IT desks were installed alongside numerous soft seating and made to order units, while storage spaces between pillars were customised to show movie reels, suiting the particular demands of this unusual project.
Flexiform also provided Harc sofas and single chairs, alongside wooden framed coffee tables, which emphasised the aesthetic of this memorable building. Comfort was also of paramount importance in a space designed for extensive public use, soft circular seating installed around the pillars, offers a unique and elegant seating solution. By working closely alongside the client, Flexiform were able to provide inventive bespoke furnishings that met the particular needs of this unique, and inspiring project.
