Flexiform continues the successful collaboration with NHS Business Services Authority (NHS BSA) for their latest project in Eastbourne. Like many offices and businesses across the UK, an increase in homeworking has resulted in less demand for space in the office. Flexiform helped NHS BSA to relocate to smaller premises with both new and existing furniture.
To make the office more suitable to their new needs, NHS BSA focused on adding more collaborative furniture such as pods and booths. They selected the “Bob” meeting pod, an enclosed 4-person pod with a ventilation system, lighting, glass hinged door, integral seating, table and lighting and matching “Penelope” private phone booth for phone calls. NHS BSA utilised existing storage to create a scrum pod; a bank of storage cupboards with a new oversailing top and stools to create a superb touchdown space. This collaborative approach to furniture allows staff to come into the office to meet, talk, and work on group projects, leaving more solo work to their home office environments.
Office Move & Logistics: Relocating to smaller premises had its challenges for the Flexiform project management and installation teams. We itemised and wrapped up their existing furniture, provided crate hire and redistributed furniture into their new smaller offices, installing it to NHS BSA’s space plan. We also relocated additional office furniture from across several other sites, this included storage units manufactured and supplied by ourselves and 3rd party furniture that the client wanted to re-utilise.
As the new office space had access restrictions, NHS BSA’s standard tall storage unit, our Freestor 1000mm (W) x 2007mm (H) tambour unit, wouldn’t fit up the stairs. Luckily, our latest storage range, (Metro) comes flat-packed and installed on-site, allowing us to create the large capacity storage units NHS BSA required. Their new meeting room was also compact which required a new bespoke Additions 2 meeting room table at thinner than normal size. Alongside the collaboration furniture, we installed Jot-Up electric sit-stand desks fully kitted with on-desk electrics, dual monitor arms and an adjustable desk chair for a full ergonomic set-up. These new offices are a great facility to entice workers back into the offices and create a workspace which is suitable for their current needs utilising existing furniture.
