Flexiform has recently collaborated with Commercial Interior Designer This is Interiors, to complete the office fit-out for XR Games, delivering an on-trend office suitable for this game development company. XR Games’ primary aim was to avoid the office feeling like a typical office whilst still being able to accommodate the “office needs” of staff, requiring a mixture of cost-effective desking and high-end feature pieces such as soft seating, lounge chairs and meeting tables. The office was set in a historic mill building with industrial architectural features helping to create a unique and stunning interior.
Marcus (Flexiform) leapt to the challenge, starting with taking the client on a tour around the London Furniture Showrooms, inspiring the specification of office furniture and finishes that align with This is Interiors’ aesthetic.
Design-Led Office Furniture
To deliver on XR Games’ wish for a modern office interior, Flexiform installed a range of stylish FlexiGrid office shelving systems all in black, providing a natural divider in the open-plan office and a place to display iconic gaming artwork, figures, plants, equipment and more. We installed cost-effective single office desks in a black and white finish with matching Freestor Tambour storage at the end for instant access to equipment. Freestanding office plants and storage top planters are featured throughout to give a biophilic and domestic feel.
Within the meeting spaces, the black and white theme continued with informal meeting settings made from Additions pedestal base table and stacking Melita chairs, and semi-formal larger teams using Additions meeting tables with cantilever leather meeting chairs. The striking boardroom features a bespoke all-black Additions 2 oval table with in-surface power and data and matching leather chairs, complete with a white and black credenza. These mixtures of meeting spaces allow teams to quickly collaborate and maximise the space.
Breakout Office Furniture
XR Games’ offices have a number of stunning breakout spaces from a simple office kitchen with all-black stools and bespoke Parq picnic bench-style tables to an event area with a bar, coffee tables and retro-cool armchairs. The staff also have a gaming room, with deep cushion sofas and side tables as a place to relax and test out the latest games.
To complete this stunning office furniture install, we installed a managerial office, luxury leather lounge chairs and hairpin coffee tables with matching chesterfield styles leather office sofas for a premium office space.
